Nothing is faster than the Tarmac SL8. We've designed the ultimate combination of lightness, aerodynamics and ride feel. After eight generations and more than twenty years of development, we present the new Tarmac SL8 — the world's fastest race bike. Are your legs ready?

Good aerodynamics and a low weight alone don't win races — speed is the only thing that counts. So we set out to create a no-compromise combination of aerodynamics, minimal weight, stiffness and compliance. Our Ride Science team ran simulations based on real race data and found that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike ever made for the races that truly matter: 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km, 128 seconds faster during Milan–San Remo, 20 seconds faster to the top of the legendary Tourmalet.

The Tarmac SL8 Pro comes equipped with SRAM Force AXS for lower weight, effortless braking and faster, more precise shifting.

AERODYNAMICS IN EVERY DETAIL: We make things aerodynamic wherever we can — not just where it looks good. This has resulted in our most aerodynamic race bike ever — more aerodynamic than even the Venge. The new Speed Sniffer puts air to optimal use for maximum advantage. The headtube gusset has been moved rearward, allowing us to sharpen the leading edge of the head tube dramatically, reducing drag. The Tarmac SL8 also features the most aerodynamic seatpost we've ever made (UCI-compliant), allowing fast-moving air around the legs to flow cleanly.

MINIMAL WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERODYNAMICS: Lessons learned from the Aethos allowed us to meet UCI minimum weight requirements while maximising aerodynamics. The team built a frame at an extraordinary 685g — 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other bike in the WorldTour*. The down tube, seat tube and rear end are now significantly lighter than on the Aethos. The frame shape carries weight so efficiently that additional carbon stiffness layers are no longer needed. (*Except for the time Kasper Asgreen won a Tour stage on a 585g Aethos frame.)

GOES LIKE HELL, RIDES LIKE HEAVEN: A massive improvement in the stiffness-to-weight ratio — over 33% vs the SL7 — elevates legendary ride feel, aggressive responsiveness and extraordinary geometry to a new level. Stiffer at the pedals, more precise steering, combined with smooth compliance for optimal comfort. Thanks to Rider-First Engineering, every rider benefits from the same exceptional ride quality regardless of frame size. On rough road, the Tarmac SL8 absorbs 6% more vibration. The proven Tarmac geometry and 32mm tyre clearance are identical to the SL7.

BEYOND GENDER: Two male riders can differ from each other more than a man and a woman. Gender alone is no longer enough to specialise — the idea of bikes specifically for men or women is outdated. Everyone can now benefit from the Tarmac SL8. It's time to look beyond gender.
