Our mechanics treat every bike with care and precision, whether it's your very first bike or the bike you've dreamed about for so long. From quick check-ups to complete overhauls, we make sure your bike is in top shape so you can enjoy every ride.

The workshop is the beating heart of Kaptein. It’s where passion for bikes and true craftsmanship come together to keep your ride in top condition. Our mechanics work with care and precision, using the latest tools and techniques. We’re transparent about costs and always check in before doing anything extra. Your bike leaves our workshop feeling better than ever.

Pricelist

Our prices are transparent and based on what your bike needs. Parts are not included in these rates. Every bike is different, but this gives a good idea of what to expect.

  • Set gears | €30,-
  • Adjust brakes | €30,-
  • Brake pad replacement | €25,- per brake
  • Hydraulic brake bleed | €50,- per brake
  • Replace bar tape | €30,-
  • Bottom bracket / headset (excl. integrated) | €50,-
  • Tubeless setup (excl. sealant and valves) | €35,- per wheel
  • Replace outer/inner tire (excl. tubeless) | €20,- per wheel
  • Replace spoke (excl. tubeless wheels)  | €30,- per wheel
  • Dynamic hotwax | €55,-

We work with a fixed rate of €100 per hour and we always make an estimate of the costs in advance together with you and we’ll let you know if your bicycle needs a little more attention.

Kaptein is the official Shimano Service Center in Amsterdam. Our certified mechanics are specialists in road, gravel and mountain bikes from mechanical drivetrains to advanced electronic Di2 systems. We work with original Shimano parts and provide expert adjustment, maintenance and diagnostics using official Shimano tools. With years of experience across 105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace, GRX, XTR and more, your bike is always in the best hands.
